Recently, we have described two subsets of eosinophils: inflammatory eosinophils (iEos), which predominate in the blood of horses suffering from IBH, and resident eosinophils (rEos), which are present in the blood of healthy horses. Vaccinated horses showed a marked reduction in the total number of eosinophils, particularly iEos, with the few remaining eosinophils still exhibiting the iEos phenotype. In the present study, we followed the phenotype of eosinophil subsets in the second year after vaccination in IBH-affected horses.
