The Evax laboratory team has developed a method to determine whether a horse has sweet itch using molecular biological analysis of skin biopsies. In an affected horse, certain genes are more active than is the case in healthy horses. This gene activity is measured using gene quantification by qPCR and then interpreted by our experts.
